The Fox TV network just demonstrated the real meaning of a whiiiiite Christmas among the conservatives who dominate media ownership in this country (I don't think it was the local Fox station, but it could have been). During the pre-game broadcast for the Detroit at Philadelphia game today — remember, a plurality of the athletes participating has at least some African ancestry — the stadium announcer called for a minute of silence for Nelson Mandela. The screen then showed a reasonable single-frame image of Mandela, his lifespan, and a short quotation...
...for about five seconds...
...and cut to a commercial for V__gra that showed only whiiiiite people. This limp display contrasts unfavorably with previous "minutes of silence" at sporting events this year; in each of those other instances — even in Fox broadcasts — the broadcast stayed at the stadium. In this instance, only bloodflow to the pocketbook was being enhanced; I suppose that's close enough to the "target" for V__gra and similar medications to count.
I have yet to see a person of color acting as a spokescreature or advocate proclaiming opposition to the so-called "war on Christmas." They really do want a whiiiiite Christmas! (n.b. I did not embed this clip because it's autoplay.) It's not just that this particular "fight" happens; it's that those involved are oblivious to its context. Well, Roger Ailes isn't... but as an architect of the second-wave Heffalump "Southern Strategy," you can well imagine why. Since it's not white on the ground, but whiiiiite on the face, that these creeps really want, I propose hitting each of them in the face with a snowball.
